Chile in the coming years will concentrate about 60% of the world’s observation capacity. The uniqueness of the data produced by astronomy (large and complex data volumes, various formats and the need to process them online) together with the proper use of them, will allow the generation of new science, economics and technological development, propelling Chile to a position privileged.
The Data Observatory under its area of work from the earth to sky, aims to exploit the data generated through this revolutionary observation capacity in the country. Currently, the projects of LSST, an association of the Data Observatory and ALeRCE, the development of the first CL-VAC through the availability of ALMA data to the national scientific community, and CIELO “Chemo-dynamIcal properties of gaLaxies and the cosmic web ”
